I just found that the underwater scenes don't seem to look very good, seems blurry to me. Most others i try have too much bleeding or blurryness. I wish everyone could see it.Īlice: Madness returns i have to say also looks pretty good in 3D, not great but good. The giant snake, the giant frog.etc almost startling.

Well i wouldn't recommend investing in 3D stuff just for Trine 2 as from my experience seems to be the only game.or movie for that matter, that got it right. I thought Alice: madness returns looked pretty good but this one blows that out of the water. Surely i can't be the only one so amazed, never heard anyone mention how good this one looked in 3D. But definitely made me giddy in the nerdiest way possible  I thought fraps would take some pics viewable in 3d but apparently not. Even Avatar in 3d didn't do it as well as this game does.kudos to the developers. I just wish all games could look this good in 3d. I actually found myself staring, with the art style and graphics and how close the foreground pops out, its almost kinda like looking at a train set in how they do the foilage and towns. very crisp visuals and some amazing detail i never noticed in 2d before. from foreground to background, this is definitely the most stunning 3d effect i've ever seen.Ĭomes out of the screen within a couple feet and stretches into the horizon with perfection. This is so the game is able to load the alternate version of the stage, to prevent single players from being stuck on a level that is only possible with multiple players.Though Trine 2 has some pretty visuals. It’s a tidy compromise that comes with only one downside you will be required to go back to the main menu and reload your stage in single or multiplayer depending.

That would mean them being either too easy for the multiplayer crowd or too hard for the single player. This is a neat touch, and it’s a nicer alternative than having the puzzles be the same between gameplay modes. The answer will usually be the same but there will be one less pressure plate to push or one less light shaft to re-direct. One puzzle you complete with friends will have important parts missing when you play on your own. While making a bridge isnt super difficult most of the time, it’s a hell of a lot more satisfying than just magicking yourself across the gap.Īn interesting thing to note is that puzzles in co-op and single player are vastly different. There are sections where the game clearly wants you to make a rope bridge to tightrope across, but you can literally just ~fwoosh~ across to the other side. One big disappointment was that Pontius and Amadeus’ charge abilities ruin some of the puzzles a bit. There’s something endlessly satisfying about knowing you solved the puzzle, especially if you know you solved it wrong.

With so many different moving parts, Trine has always done an amazing job shoving the players into a room and saying, “here’s some boxes, a rope and a shield. What do you mean i could have just used Pontius’ shield to redirect the water? I spent 20 minutes furiously arranging boxes until the water miraculously got to where i needed it to, and it was thrilling. The kind where you spend so long stuck on a stupid idea that definitely wasn’t the one the developers planned for you, and you slam your head against a wall until you force the game to do your dark bidding. Being a physics based puzzle game, there is always opportunity for my favorite kind of puzzle solving. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that sort of thing, especially when the number of abilities you can use are constantly growing. Otherwise, it’s mostly just a ‘find the quickest way across the gap’ fare. “Being a physics based puzzle game, there is always opportunity for my favorite kind of puzzle solving.
